Tax Preparer Internships

Fast Track to Career Opportunities for Tax School Students

About the Internship Program

The Income Tax School Internship Program provides a unique opportunity for employers of tax professionals and students enrolled in the tax school to work together on a trial basis while realizing mutual benefits.

Tax preparation firms, as well as CPA and Law Firms that provide tax services, can be introduced to prospective new employees with basic tax preparation training. The intern will already have completed at least the first tax course (60-hour Comprehensive Tax Course) in income tax preparation at The Income Tax School with a grade of 80% or higher.

The intern can be observed on a low-cost trial basis before firm commits to employment. If the intern meets the employer’s criteria, he or she can then be hired and groomed as a “home-grown” tax professional. The apprentice tax preparer would ease the firm’s tax work load, while continuing to take advanced courses in individual and small business tax preparation and even go on to earn the Chartered Tax Professional (CTP®) designation.
